​​My name is Runkun, and I believe art embodies different energies and emotions.

​

​I completed my first master’s degree in landscape architecture at the University of Edinburgh in 2020 after my undergraduate study in Landscape design in China. Then, I continued my research journey in art history. My education experiences have contributed to me being an enthusiastic person in exploring nature and creating art. I love getting inspired by nature and feeling in touch with the landscape around me.​

 

As an artist, my main interest is illustrating landscapes and cities. I’m looking at these two subjects from artistic, social, and psychological aspects, how landscape is present in the city, and how it connects us with its presence. I experiment with a variety of colours and mediums in my artworks to build a connection between the art I create and the people who perceive it.

 

​I grew up in Beijing and now I am settled in Edinburgh. I have a passion for walking around the city no matter where I live. My mind wanders freely in the city, and I use my art to record what I perceive.
